First Post...Wohoo!

This is my first post…on any blog. So please bare with this virgin blogger a bit.

The reasons for me delving into the unchartered world of blogging (at least unchartered by me):

1. I finally moved to Italy (specifically Soave in the Veneto region) 5 days before my self-imposed deadline…my 30th birthday

2. Received a number of emails from friends & family asking about my experience here. Some sort of response was required on my part and…

3. I wanted to avoid sending out mass emails at all costs – as I see it, updated contact info is the only reason to send
out a mass email (with some limited exceptions – i.e. complaining about receiving a mass email to all the others who just received the same mass email)

4. Wanted to give people the opportunity (optional!) to get to know the Veneto region and see what is behind the walls of Soave (one of the few medieval walled cities still entirely surrounded by its walls)

5. Was itching to do this for myself (as corny as that sounds) – a creative and introspective project to keep my pretty little head even more occupied

I am approaching my blog as I do everything else in my life, kind of as a work-in-progress. So I am extremely open to suggestions…especially since I am new to this. But if one of your suggestions is to stop using ellipses, you are out of luck. Non-negotiable. Sorry.

But if I do start down the road where I am giving such inane details on my day-to-day life, please come on over to Soave and slap me silly.

And when it comes to others posting things here, while I would like to straight-up say “no holds barred”…a little restraint is recommended. You know who you are. Yes, I am talking to you!
